More Than a Biography
Share
Sometimes an outfit tells you more about a person than a biography ever could.
Some people will look at that outfit and immediately start deciding whether it works.
I think that's the wrong question.
The better question is:
Does it feel like me?
Because that's where it begins.
It starts with recognizing yourself.
One of the questions I hear most often at Herschede is, "Can I wear this with that?"
It's a fair question.
Good style has always had guidelines. Fit matters. Proportion matters. Balance matters.
The problem isn't the rules. It's when the rules become more important than the person wearing them.
I'm not trying to convince anyone to wear a sportcoat with swim trunks.
It happens to feel like me.
It might not be your look.
It doesn't have to be.
That's the point.
Style isn't about ignoring convention. It's about knowing where your own personality belongs.
That's what I hope people discover when they walk into Herschede.
When they do, it's unmistakable.
You can see it happen.
Someone puts something on, looks in the mirror and, for just a moment, stops analyzing.
Their posture changes.
They smile.
They don't ask another question.
They just know.
Maybe that's the feeling we're all chasing.
Not approval.
Just that quiet moment when what you're wearing finally feels like an extension of who you are.
